Genoa – Christian Orthodox Relics and Holy Places
Description:
For tourists wishing to visit relics revered throughout the Christian world, I offer pilgrimage and tourist trips to Genoa and the Ligurian coast.
From one of the crusades, the Genoese brought to the city the relics of St. John the Baptist, who in 1327 was proclaimed the patron saint of Genoa. The relics of the Saint are kept in the main Cathedral of Genoa. At the cathedral, the relics of St. Lawrence, part of the relics of St. Anna (Mother of the Virgin), the relics of St. James and many other valuable relics brought by the Crusaders to Genoa are also buried.
In the Armenian church of St. Bartholomew, founded in 1308 by Armenian monks, for almost six centuries the icon “Holy Face” (Savior of the Unmade). Recognized and revered as an authentic portrait of Jesus Christ, serving as the matrix for all Christian iconography in the first millennium AD.
Then, by car, we will climb to the Sanctuary of the Mother of God, located at an altitude of 804 meters above sea level. According to legend, it was here that the appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary took place and a chapel was built on her order. Later, a grand complex was built in honor of the Virgin.
The Church of the Mother of God is truly unique and miraculous.
Here they pray for children, family happiness, from diseases, during rescue in various disasters and accidents. Real wax candles and many photos and offerings to the Virgin. From the observation deck there is a wonderful view of the city and the coast.
