Old port of Genoa
Porto Antico, Genova, Italia, 010 248 571
Description:
The old seaport of Genoa is one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean. It was designed by the world-famous Genoese architect Renzo Piano.
It is in the Old Port that the largest urban aquarium in Europe is located, with the largest number of represented aquatic ecosystems.
Near the aquarium are the Lanterna lighthouse, a botanical garden, a replica of a 16th-century ship and the Galata Maritime Museum. It is the first maritime museum in the Mediterranean, featuring the entire history of navigation from merry boats to transatlantic ships.
Being in the Old Port, you should definitely take a ride on the observation lift Bigo, which offers a delightful view of the harbor and the panorama of the Old Town.
