Cagliari

Sightseeing tour of Cagliari

Description:

Cagliari (the capital of Sardinia with about 250,000 inhabitants) is the largest city on the island and one of the oldest on the Mediterranean.

Cagliari, like Rome, is located on seven hills: Sant'Elia, Bonaria, Monte Urpino, Monte Claro, Tuvizheddu, San Michele and Castello.

In those days, as now, the most important area of the city was Castello (founded by a Pisan in the XIII century), which was the legal and financial center of the city.

The history of this amazing city is preserved here, in the fortress walls, towers, sabor of the XIII century, in the bastions and medieval quarters that adorn the area.

Not far from the ancient area of Castello are the commercial streets of Via Manno e Via Garibaldi with shops of clothes and shoes, able to satisfy the most demanding buyer. There is also a large number of cozy typical restaurants that give an opportunity to appreciate the local cuisine.
