Caserta Park
Viale Giulio Douhet, 2a, 81100 Caserta, Italy
Description:
The park begins at the back of the palace and stretches up to the grottoes, from which hundreds of liters of water pour into the system of waterfalls and fountains. The project of the park and various gardens was planned by Luigi Vanvitelli. The park was completed in 1780 by his son Carlo Vanvitelli.
The park is impressive for its large size: you can walk in it indefinitely. Therefore, for the convenience of tourists, horse carts and buses are organized, which will help them to see as many attractions as possible with minimal time.
Fountains in the park cannot be counted: this is the fountain of Ceres, Venus, Diana and Acteon and many, many others, diverse in their shape and scale.
The park is home to a fish pond 1,558 feet long and 89.4 feet wide. The pond is used in the amusement park and is a constant source of fish for the royal table.
