Mount Etna is the main natural attraction of Sicily, a UNESCO object. Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world annually visit this unique place, giving the opportunity to feel at the epicenter of the birth of the Earth.
Etna, whose height is about 3324 meters, is not just a fire-breathing mountain, but also a self-sufficient microcosm, existing according to the rules of interaction and mutual respect.
From time immemorial, residents call Etna simply “montagna” or “mother” and to the question “Is it not scary to live on a volcano?” smile in response, as if not understanding what the problem is. What's the real problem? Etna gives man everything: stone for the construction of dwellings, fertile soils and water for gardens and gardens, shady chestnut and oak groves with many picturesque trails.
The landscapes of Etna are very diverse. From evergreen exotic gardens at the foot, vineyards and broadleaf forests at medium altitudes to lava deserts and extinct craters closer to the summit. The higher we rise, the more we feel the breath of the Earth’s interior.
Tasting the “delicacies of the mountain” – honey, nuts, olives, cheeses and sausages – is a mandatory stage of the tour. Without a delicious souvenir, no one will be left!
The program of the 4-hour excursion includes ascent by car to an altitude of 1986 m (south-east slope) with panoramic stops along the way, a walk along the extinct craters of Silvestri and a descent through the eastern slope with honey tasting. The program of the 6-hour excursion also includes climbing to a height of 3000 m (optional, since it is carried out only under favorable weather conditions and for an additional fee) or lunch in an agrituristic farm, or tasting wines and products in the winery. The program of the 8-hour excursion "Day on the Volcano" includes ascent to 1986 m, optional ascent of 3000 m or trekking on extinct craters, lunch or lunch-tasting, descent through the northern slope.
