Branca Tower
Description:
Branca Tower is located in the Sempione Park in the center of Milan next to the Sforza Castle. The openwork metal tower with a height of 108.6 meters is called the Eiffel Tower of Milan. Architects Giovanni Ponti, Cesare Ciodi and Ettore Ferrari built it within 3 months in 1933. The opening of the tower was timed to coincide with the fifth Triennale exhibition. At that time, the tower was called Torre Littoria.
Inside the tower, a high-speed elevator is mounted, which will take visitors to a glazed observation deck with a diameter of 18.5 meters at an altitude of 97 meters.
In 1972, the tower was closed for reconstruction, which lasted 30 years. The event was financed by the large winery Fratelli Branca. In 2002, the tower again began to receive visitors and received a new name "Branca".
