Fountain at Sforzesco Castle

Piazza Castello, Milan, Italy

Description:

The fountain at the Sforzesco Castle was nicknamed “The Wedding Cake” by the people of Milan. According to legend, the person who throws a coin into the fountain will soon find love. Currently, this place is the most popular for wedding photo shoots.

The Wedding Cake Fountain, like Francesco Sforza Castle, has a long and complex history. Several times it was completely destroyed and then restored again.

In the late 50s, the fountain at Sforzesco Castle was removed from the square for storage due to the construction of the Milan metro, and it was returned only in 2000.
