Equestrian statue of Vitorio-Emanuele II
Description:
The equestrian statue of Vitorio-Emanuele II, dedicated to the greatest unifier of Italy, is located in the Cathedral Square of Milan.
The monument was created in 1896 by sculptor Ercole Rosa.
The sculpture is distinguished by pathos bas-reliefs, which depict the entry of the French and Piedmontese into Milan, liberated from the Austrians.
It is worth noting that the monument is clean, because the current passed through the monument, which scares birds away from the monument dedicated to the Milanese national hero.
Also named after King Vittorio-Emanuele II is the gallery and avenue. Next to the monument, installed on a lush pedestal in Duomo Square, are the Royal Palace and the temple of San Gottardo.
