The Royal Palace in Milan

Piazza Duomo 12, Milan, Italy

Description:

The Royal Palace is an ancient building located in the historic center of Milan. For many years, the City Council sat in the palace, and today there is a museum and art exhibitions.

The Royal Palace has a very long history - the first city hall was built on this site in the twelfth century, and since then the palace has become a symbol of the ruling power. And although over the centuries the appearance of the building has changed dramatically, and the construction of a modern building dates back to the 19th century, the Royal Palace still gives the impression of a very ancient and majestic place.

The Royal Palace was badly damaged during World War II, the building stood dilapidated for a long time, waiting for restoration. After the restoration, the palace was given to the city museum. Today, it hosts art exhibitions and a variety of cultural events, gathering all Milanese art fans as well as foreign tourists.
