Lambro Park

A few kilometers northeast of downtown Milan, Italy

Description:

Lambro Park is one of the largest parks in Milan, located in the northeast of the city. The park is extremely popular among citizens - it is a great place for hiking, active recreation and picnics.

Lambro Park was created in 1936 by landscape architect Enrico Casiraghi, who wanted to recreate in a small area a typical landscape of his native Lombardy - with hills, lakes, rivers and corresponding vegetation. Unfortunately, the appearance of the park was strongly influenced by World War II, during which many trees were cut down for firewood. For a long time the park remained in desolation, but in recent years it has been actively restored.

Today, Lambro Park is a picturesque and quiet place located right in the center of the bustling Milan. The total area of the park is 773 thousand square meters. In the park you can find two playgrounds, a picnic area, several football fields and a skateboarding ground. The total length of the paths of the park is four kilometers - it is a great place for walking in the fresh air, away from the noise of the big city.
