Place dei Mercanti

Piazza dei Mercanti, 20123 Milano, Italy

Description:

Piazza dei Mercanti is the heart of old Milan. It is a quadrangular square on which there are four beautiful palaces: the Romanesque Palazzo del Rajone, as well as the Palazzo Giureconsulti, Scuole Palatine and Loggia degli Osia.

The square is located between Piazza del Duomo and Piazza Corducio. In the XIII century on the square you could buy a variety of folk crafts. Until the end of the XIX century, the most noisy and cheerful Milanese fairs took place on the square.

Now the square is the busiest square of Milan, because it is concentrated on many restaurants, cafes, antique shops, beautiful buildings and interesting monuments that attract tourists.
