San Siro Stadium
Piazzale Angelo Moratti 20151, Milan, Italy
Description:
The San Siro Stadium (also known as Giuseppe Meazza) is a famous football arena located in the Italian city of Milan. San Siro is home to two of the country’s most popular football clubs, Milan and Intera.
The San Siro Stadium opened to the public in September 1926. Initially, this arena accommodated 35 thousand spectators, but after a series of upgrades and reconstructions, the builders managed to increase this figure more than twice. In 1979, the stadium received a second name - in honor of the famous Italian striker and two-time world champion Giuseppe Meazza. Since then, both names have been used equally.
In addition to football matches, the San Siro is used for concerts. At this stadium, the world's largest stars of rock and pop music performed - Madonna, U2, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and many others. This legendary football arena is considered a cult among football fans and, as a result, is never empty.
