Cova Castle

Via Carducci, 36, Angolo Via San Vittore, 20123 Milan, Italy

Description:

Cova Castle is a historical example of Milan’s eclectic architecture. The castle was built in 1915 by the famous Italian architect Adolfo Coppede.

The construction of the castle is characterized by traditional elements of a medieval fortress. Visiting Milan, many tourists go to admire the original building on Carducci Street. Architect Koppede embodied in it his fantasies on the theme of the knight's castle. They say that the unusual style of the building somehow echoes the Sforza Castle.

The work of the architect is a construction of a cubic shape, located just opposite the medieval city gate. The facade is lined with artificial stone, and the upper part of the building - ordinary red brick. The tower of Cova Castle and the roof are decorated with teeth, and the corner elements of the walls and protrusions are decorated with natural stone. On the third floor there is a large open loggia, which attracts the eyes of all passers-by.
