Bagatti Valseca Museum

Via Gesù, 5, Milano, Italia

About the company:

The Bagatti Valseca Museum is one of Milan’s outstanding architectural and cultural attractions. It was opened in 1974 and immediately gained popularity among the masses. The museum presents numerous works of sculptural and artistic art, artifacts, paintings and frescoes, weapons, majolica.

Also here is a huge number of antiquities, furniture and things that decorated the apartment house, where in the XIX century lived two brothers – Giuseppe and Fausto Bagatti Valsecchi. The entire collection was bequeathed to the city by their descendants. The city authorities founded a house-museum in memory of the great brothers.

The building of the Bagatti Valseca House-Museum is remarkable for the fact that, being built in the XIX century, its internal and external decoration completely copies the buildings of the XVI century. It is now one of the best preserved European buildings of that period. Structurally, the building consists of two symmetrical parts, between which there is a through extension, decorated with arched openings and a neat small balcony.
