Milan Central Station
Description:
Milan Central Station is the largest railway station in Italy and Europe. More than 320,000 passengers pass through this colossal transport hub every day.
Milan Central Station was built in 1931, replacing the old one, which could not cope with the load. The new station was created under the influence of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, and it was designed to demonstrate the power and pomp of the fascist regime. As a result, Milan Central Station is truly impressive - its facade alone is 200 meters long and 72 meters high. Twenty-four railway platforms receive more than 500 trains daily from all over Europe, and during the year the station serves more than 120 million passengers.
Central Station is connected with the city by direct bus service, as well as by metro lines. There is a taxi station opposite. An additional railway line connects the station with Milan Airport, which is also very convenient for passengers.
