Royal Palace of Caserta
Description:
This historic mansion, which belonged to the Royal Bourbon dynasty in Naples, is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also called the Italian Versailles.
The king specially summoned from Rome the talented architect engineer Vanvitelli, who was busy with works for the Vatican. The design and finishing work was carried out for almost 100 years. The grand lobby with a grand staircase is simply breathtaking, here Vanvitelli invented the first stereo music - a suspended ceiling where musicians were placed - the guests of the king did not understand where the music came from. The king wanted the same chapel as in Versailles, but to the taste of Vanvitelli it was too tasteless and pompous, he managed to approve his project from the king, based on the classical style of ancient Greece and Rome. Old (700 years) and new (800 years) apartments admire their decoration - paintings and frescoes, marble, Baroque and Empire furniture, sofas and chairs sheathed with silk of the royal factory in San Leucho, walls sheathed with silk, bronze chandeliers and chandeliers made of Murano glass. In addition, you will learn what a flying chair, a music cabinet and a strange object of unknown use in the form of a guitar. Located in the town of Caserta, it is surrounded by a huge park, which is divided into two parts: the garden in Italian, which has 7 fountains, and the garden in English. Vanvitelli himself calls his project a large theater in nature, where at the beginning of the park there are spectators and watch the play of nature and water. Water, its current symbolizes life, it gives movement to statues that cannot move. The garden in English is full of romantic corners, streams full of algae, waterfalls, hills, secret paths, intersecting paths, decorated with majestic plane trees, cedars, pines, cypresses, magnolias, palm trees, herbs and flowers. Its beauty is compared to the Palace of Versailles of France.
