Pompeii. History comes alive

Pompeii did not disappear from the face of the earth.

This city is able to surprise on the first acquaintance. Many expect to see a dead city and will be amazed by the energy of the place where real life is present, it only paused for a while.

Some of the visitors subconsciously expect to see the next ruins, where it will be difficult to understand what they looked like before the death. But the city appears to its guests in all its fullness and diversity.

Pompeii surprises with its infrastructure designed to provide comfort to its residents: This is the water supply system of houses, city baths and street fountains; it is qualitatively paved streets with sidewalks and the organization of public life for safety, entertainment and pleasure of the inhabitants.

Residents did not have time to prepare for the terrible tragedy – everything in the city remained as it was before the eruption. Under the thickness of volcanic materials, archaeologists found streets and houses, household utensils and food, the remains of people and animals.
