The founding, development and death of Pompeii in 79 was the most tragic episode in the history of ancient Italy. Life in Pompeii stopped in an instant and was preserved for centuries.
Under the multimeter thickness of volcanic eruptions, archaeologists have discovered houses, streets, squares in the form in which they were almost 2000 years ago!
