Sightseeing tour of Padua. The legendary city of three without
Description:
An introductory tour of the old woman - Padua (the city is the oldest in the Veneto region) begins at the famous "cafe without doors" Pedrocchi.
We will visit the halls decorated in the colors of the Italian tricolor and taste the signature mint coffee. Then take a look at the Renaissance courtyard of the University of Padua, where you will learn about the establishment and centuries-old traditions of Italy’s second oldest university. In the center of urban and commercial life for more than 800 years, on the Square of Fruit and Herbs, we will visit the monumental building of the Palace of Justice. The astronomical clock in the nearby Piazza della Signoria will continue the theme of the zodiac signs, which will be a constant leitmotif of our tour. At Cathedral Square, I invite you to visit a small baptistery painted with magnificent frescoes by Florentine master Giusto de Menabouoy. Our story will not be complete without the great Petrarch, who lived here in the neighborhood. We will walk the streets of the Jewish ghetto to the tomb of the mythical founder of Padua, and also visit the house of Galileo Galilei outside.
You will have the opportunity to touch the relics of St. Antonio of Padua in the basilica of the same name, as well as see the works of the great Donatello, Alticiero, Giusto de Menabouoi. We will finish our fascinating tour at the oldest botanical garden in Europe, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
