Palermo is a city where history is visible on every corner, and museums create the perfect routes for real travel. The streets are full of architectural layers, balconies and palaces, and museum halls allow you to look into the different eras of the island. For culture lovers and those looking for rich excursions, Palermo offers many experiences and revelations.
The Archaeological Museum of Antonio Salinas occupies a special place in the museum life of the city: the building, the construction of which began at the end of the XVI century, is a monument in itself, and its collections include rich archaeological collections and rare exhibits that reveal ancient layers of history. The city also has museums of various directions – from historical collections to art collections – where unique expositions and objects of local importance are found. In the vicinity of Palermo, you can include small private collections and archaeological sites that complement the overall picture and make the journey deeper.
The museum life of Palermo is dynamic: permanent exhibitions coexist with temporary exhibitions and imported projects, and the museum posters are regularly updated depending on the season. Museums conduct educational programs, thematic cycles and special projects that enrich excursions and provide an opportunity to see rare collections. Follow the official announcements and schedules to get to the events of interest and plan your trips through the halls in advance.
Come to Palermo to walk the museum routes and discover new facets of history and art. The best way to see the main thing is to book a tour with a private guide: local guides will pick up a personal route, tell little-known stories about the exhibits and help make a trip to the museums really memorable. Book an excursion in advance and give yourself a rich and convenient trip to the museums of the city.
