Ancient Regia
Description:
Reggio di Calabria. An ancient city, considered the cultural and historical center of the region. It is famous for the famous embankment, which one Italian poet called the most beautiful kilometer of Italy. And for a reason. You need to see this wonderful landscape with your own eyes. And if you're lucky, it's the mythical Fata Morgan.
I suggest you walk around this wonderful city, which harbors many small charms and surprises. We will walk along the central pedestrian boulevard, where there are many different boutiques where you can shop. Let's take a look at the city's cathedral. Be sure to visit the National Museum, which houses unique bronze statues of the Greek Empire, which are the hallmark of not only Reggio, but all of Calabria.
After that, using the escalator connecting the upper part of the city with the sea zone, we will go down to the embankment. Here I suggest stopping in one of the bars to enjoy the delicious ice cream and rest, after which we will continue a walk along the sea: look at the Greek ruins and Roman baths, admire the sculptures installed on the promenade and, of course, the wonderful views of the Strait of Messina and Sicily. Along the way, I will tell you a little about the history of this ancient city, its wonderful people and, of course, about the legends and myths associated with these places.
