Rimini

The fabulous castle of Gradara and Gabicce Monte.

Description:

Gradara is the capital of the Middle Ages, a town with an ancient fortress, rising at an altitude of 142 meters above sea level. From the height of this hill, amazing panoramic views of the olive and grape fields, the seascapes of the Adriatic Sea open. I highly recommend to go and see, with a visit to the museum in the castle where the history of Paolo and Francesca of Rimini was born (described in the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri), the events took place in this castle in the exposition there are many objects that speak about this history. Many of them, such as the costumes of the main characters of the story (used in the play in the early 20th century), were donated to the museum. The castle, after the death of its owner, was in the possession of the Popes and their cardinals. Furniture and furnishings mainly belonged to them.

At the end of the tour, I suggest you look into the panoramic tourist town of Gabicce Monte, located inside the San Bartolo National Natural Park with a stunning panorama, pleasant restaurants and bars where you can relax and take beautiful photos. The port of Vallugol has been a famous stop since Roman times, with a favorite beach with crystal clear waters and an unusual location protected by two hills.
