Rasponi Garden of Forgotten Plants

Via Raspona, Ravenna, Italy

Description:

The Garden of Forgotten Plants (Rasponi Garden) is a stunning green oasis that will delight every tourist who enters here. The garden is surrounded by a powerful gate of the XVIII century, built by Camillo Moriga.

This picturesque garden was created by the People’s Bank of Ravenna and the local administration, who decided to make a harmonious combination of nature and history a reality. In the garden, among the luxurious palaces that belonged to the richest families of Ravenna, you can find plants used both for medicinal purposes and in Mediterranean cuisine. Along with the sharp-leaved padub, the tourist will see capers, basil and oregano.

The Garden of Forgotten Plants is a completely different Ravenna, which is full of smells and enchanting aromas behind its powerful walls, sheltering it from the city noises.
