Wine tour around Verona - Valpolicella
Description:
A few kilometers from the historic center of Verona and Lake Garda is a series of valleys nestled among green soft hills and covered with vineyards, olives and fruit trees. This Verona district is called Valpolicella and is famous all over the world for its fine wines, the most famous of which is red Amarone. The Valpolicella zone is also known for its history: there are beautiful Renaissance villas, ancient churches and other interesting testimonies of ancient peoples. I offer you a tour with a visit to the picturesque town of San Giorgio, located on the top of the hill, where all the streets and houses are lined with typical local stone, and from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and Lake Garda. There you should definitely visit the ancient church of St. George, a treasury of art with frescoes of the XI century, unusual remains of the early Middle Ages, and a charming courtyard of the XII century. The second half of the tour is held in one of the most beautiful villas, where you can visit the cellar and garden, get acquainted with the history and methods of making local wines, taste and buy the most prestigious wines and products of this zone.
These rates apply only if you meet with a guide near the wine zone. If you need transportation and/or the presence of a guide during the transfer, the rates change.
