Okashi Museum of Art
About the company:
The Okashi Museum of Art is home to temporary exhibitions of Israeli contemporary art and a permanent exhibition of works by artist Avshalom Okashi.
The museum is located near Haifa in old Acre, next to the knightly halls in a vaulted ceiling building built in the Ottoman period.
Avshalom Okashi was one of the most important Israeli artists. He spent most of his life in Acre, where he founded a workshop that turned into a museum after his death.
The plots of his first works were inspired by the landscapes and spirituality of the land of Israel. In his paintings you can see moments of life of the beloved city of Okashi: people, architecture and nature of Acre. Several self-portraits of the artist are also exhibited here.
At temporary exhibitions you can see the works of leading Israeli artists such as Yigal Ozri, Ofer Laloush, Menashe Kadishman, Tali Amitai-Taviv, Azriel Kaufman and others.
