Where the Earth Becomes Space
Description:
This one-day route introduces guests to the most contrasting and impressive landscapes of Mangystau. In one day, travelers will see one of the deepest depressions of Kazakhstan, colorful clay mountains, as well as the famous snow-white plateau of Bozgira - a symbol of the region.
The first point of the route is the Karagiye depression, a giant natural bowl 132 meters below sea level. The space of the depression is rugged with ravines and beams.
Further, the route leads to the Kyzylkup tract, known for its pink-red and white striped clay hills. The length of the tract exceeds 10 kilometers, and from the road it looks like a natural painting created by layers of time.
The culmination of the journey is the Bozhir tract - first the middle, then the upper plateau. This is a section of the Ustyurt Plateau with steep cliffs up to 250 meters high. White limestone cliffs, ornamental shapes and panoramic views create the sensation of another planet. In ancient times, the waters of the Tethys ocean splashed here, so fossilized shells can still be found on the surface.
The tour is ideal for the first acquaintance with Mangystau and does not require special physical training.
