Beket-Ata underground mosque: the sacred heart of the steppe and the end point of pilgrimage

This is the place where all the pilgrimage roads lead along Mangistau to complete the path at the grave of the great Sufi, healer and enlightener.
Why is Beket-Ata Mosque the pinnacle of a spiritual journey through Mangystau?
Sacred finale of the pilgrimage route: According to the age-old tradition, a visit to Beket-Ata is the final stage of the spiritual path, which begins with his teacher – Chopan-Ata. It is a place where pilgrims make their deepest requests and receive blessings.
Powerful energy and unique acoustics of the underground mosque: Go down to a unique mosque, carved by the saint himself in the thickness of the rock. Its special acoustics and atmosphere of complete peace create a powerful sense of presence and concentration, attracting people from the XVIII century.
Touching a living tradition: You will become part of the ritual. Pilgrims bring with them treats for a common dadrakhan (table), share food with others, recite prayers. It is an opportunity to see and feel a living, unbroken tradition of reverence.
The road to the mosque itself is a journey. It passes through the most impressive landscapes of Mangystau: the rocks of Bozhyr, the colorful hills of Kyzylkup and the endless plateau of Ustyurt, making the path to the shrine no less significant than the goal itself.
