Migration Police DayIn April 1993, in connection with the changes that occurred in the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the requirements of the time, the passport and visa service was reorganized.

On its basis, the migration police was created. The tasks of the service, its structure have changed. Due to the increase in the number of foreign citizens arriving in Kazakhstan, there is a need to regulate the procedure for their stay.

Temporary registration, registration for permanent residence, registration of citizenship, issuance of certificates and passports are state-important and necessary matters. According to the presidential decree, special attention was paid to those arriving in Kazakhstan to their historical homeland.

To combat illegal migration, prevent violations of the stay of foreign citizens in Kazakhstan, smuggling drugs and weapons across the border, in April 2002, a platoon of the Unified Barrier System was created.
