Teacher's Day

On this day, students congratulate their teachers on their professional holiday.Teacher’s Day is a professional holiday of education workers. It was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 29, 1965. It was celebrated on the first Sunday of October.

By decree No. 1961 of the President of the Russian Federation of October 3, 1994, Teachers’ Day was celebrated on October 5, along with World Teachers’ Day.

Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Ukraine continue to celebrate on the first Sunday of October.

Teacher’s Day is one of my favorite professional holidays. On this day, teachers accept congratulations from their pupils, who give them flowers and gifts, arrange concerts, draw colorful wall newspapers and traditionally hold the Day of Self-Government.

A teacher is not only a person teaching sciences, but also a carrier of spirituality and moral principle. Teachers carry out a special civic mission - the education of the younger generation. Their knowledge and experience, continuity of traditions and innovation are at the heart of every school.
