Description:
Saura tract: turquoise oasis in the arms of rocks on the shore of the Caspian Sea
Discover the Saura tract - an amazing place on the coast of Mangystau, where the deepest canyon hides a cool fresh lake with turquoise water and lush greenery. This is a rare oasis for the region, where you can swim in the sea and in a mountain lake in one day, enjoying the contrast of landscapes.
Why is the Saura tract a unique pearl for a tourist?
Turquoise Lake in the Rocky Amphitheatre: Go down the path between the high walls of the canyon to its main treasure - a crystal clear lake with water of incredible turquoise hue. The contrast of dry rocks and bright water surface creates a stunning visual effect and gives long-awaited coolness on a hot day.
Green oasis with unique flora and fauna: Around the lake, life rages: tamarisks and Kazakh lilacs grow, and in quiet backwaters you can find swamp turtles. This is a rare opportunity to see how in the harsh conditions of Mangyshlak, with the presence of water, a real natural garden blooms.
Layers of history at the water's edge: The tract is not just nature. On the slopes of the canyon you can find traces of an ancient fortress of the Bronze Age and the ruins of an abandoned village of fishermen of the Soviet era, adding to the hike an atmosphere of mystery and historical depth.
Ideal combined route by the sea: Saura blends perfectly with visits to other coastal attractions such as Maykin Mound and Blue Bay, allowing you to create a rich day itinerary combining beach holidays, trekking and history.

How to get there: From Aktau or the village of Bautino (Fort Shevchenko) it is necessary to move along the coastal off-road. An SUV or a car with very high ground clearance is required, as the final section of the road to the canyon is difficult. It is recommended to hire a local guide.
Best time to visit: May to October. In summer, the water in the lake warms up for a comfortable swim. The best time of day for photos is noon, when the sun illuminates the bottom of the lake, enhancing the turquoise color.

The Saura Tract is a refreshing gift of nature in the most unexpected place. It is ideal for those who want to combine a beach holiday in the Caspian with a small but bright adventure in the canyon, leaving behind memories of turquoise water surrounded by gold rocks.
