Agia Napa

Photo Hunt for Ayia Napoi

Description:

Today I invite you to spend an unforgettable day in Ayia Napa and its surroundings and arrange a real photo hunt here. After all, where, if not in Ayia Napa, you can make the most beautiful pictures that will give warm memories in winter evenings.

But first we go to the pottery workshop. Here you create with your own hands your own jug or what you will succeed. And to paint your ceramic miracle, of course, you will be the best!

In this tour, we will visit the blue lagoon and walk barefoot through the golden velvet sand, which is considered the cleanest in Cyprus.

After that, we will go to Cape Cavo Greco. And here I'm going to show you sea caves, unique natural monuments. They were formed right in the rock, thanks to thousands of years of work of water and sea wind. These arches are similar to bridges, which are called the Bridge of Lovers and the Bridge of Sinners. Their white stones descend smoothly into the turquoise sea and look especially beautiful at sunset.

If you have the courage, you can walk through them and make wonderful shots in the sunset. And, perhaps, you will make the most intimate wish on the Bridge of Lovers, which will surely come true!

Immediately, on Cape Kavo Greco, there is an Orthodox Church of the Holy Silverless. The church is built right on a rocky cliff, which in combination with the beautiful seascape creates a romantic atmosphere. It is not for nothing that both Cypriots and tourists like to get married here.

And we will visit another holy place - the monastery of the Virgin Ayia Napa. To experience the miraculous power of the icon of the Mother of God and wear the miraculous belt of the Virgin, many come here. The Virgin gives a long-awaited child to infertile couples, and helps pregnant women in the safe course of pregnancy and easy childbirth.

There are several legends about the emergence of the monastery. It is said that around the 14th century, a hunter saw a cave in the forest from which an unusual light streamed. Looking into the cave, he found the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God. The icon was named Aya Napa, which translates as “Holy Forest”. Since then, a church was erected on the site of the cave, and later a monastery was settled there.

There is another beautiful legend about a girl from a wealthy Venetian family, whose parents forbade her to marry a commoner. Then she cut her hair in a nun and secluded herself in the church. You will learn the continuation of this story by going on a trip to the monastery of Ayia Napa.

This monastery is unique. It has survived to our time in its original form. Several times the monastery was transformed from female to male and from male to female. In the yard of the monastery grows a huge 24-meter ficus Sycamore.

According to legend, this tree was planted in the 16th century. Those who wish to drink holy water from the well in the monastery, to bow before the icon of the Virgin, as well as to find peace of mind, I invite you to go on a journey.
