My name is Elena and I have been living in Cyprus for 12 years. I have travelled to different countries (I have had tourists from 16 countries). But in the past, I'm a journalist. I used to have my own newspaper. I am used to getting information first hand. Therefore, I learn the history of Cyprus in many ways, communicating with local people, both with ordinary families, and with historians, writers, politicians and even the military.

With my friend Alei Balayeva, a professional photographer from St. Petersburg, we have been doing a documentary project about the war with the Turks for several years. So the story of how Cyprus was divided, I really know firsthand. And I really like to take my travelers to the part where Cypriots with Turkish roots now live, to share the information.

But the northern territories of Cyprus are not only a sad history of division, but also the Middle Ages, and antiquity, and just beautiful nature. I like to look at age-old stones and imagine people who once lived here, loved and hated, were happy and dying. I tell you the history of castles and ancient cities through the prism of human destinies.

My favorite topic is Orthodoxy. Here in Cyprus, I came to God. I am grateful to Him for my day. Cyprus is truly a holy island. Such a concentration of Christian shrines can be seen only in Jerusalem.
