From Aphrodite to Kikkos

Description:

Kikkos Monastery. The mountain village of Omodos. Holy Cross Monastery. Aphrodite's birthplace.

Many excursions include a visit to the Kikka Monastery. It is the main shrine in Cyprus. On today’s journey across the island, you will touch the greatest shrines of Christianity, see the wonderful nature and authentic life of the locals.

Beginning our journey, I show the Kykkk Monastery and the oldest shrine - the miraculous icon of the Virgin, which was written by the evangelist Luke during the life of the Holy Virgin Mary. Many miracles happened to me and my guests after meeting her face. On the way, I talk about the most amazing of them. And in the monastery you will definitely touch the shrine and ask the Virgin about the most important, and probably the next wonderful story will be yours!

Not many people know, but the Kikk Monastery is worth a visit because there are relics of especially revered saints: Nicholas the Pleasant, George the Victorious, Helena and Constantine, the Apostle Peter and many others.

The wonderful grace of the holy place is complemented by the amazing landscapes of the Troodos Mountains. Here the sun caresses the tops of the mountains, and the air is incredibly fresh, which makes the brightest thoughts and ideas come to mind.

After resting our souls in Kykkos, we continue our journey to Omodos. Here is the temple of the Holy and Life-giving Cross, where the artifacts of the great feat of the Savior live: part of the cross and the bond with which he was bound on Calvary. You will see these unique shrines and touch the relics of John the Forerunner, St. Panteleimon, St. Marina, the Apostle Barnabas and other saints.

And Omodos is an amazing village, and it is remarkable not only for its holy places. Here is the spirit of identity of the indigenous people of Cyprus. Just imagine: the narrow streets of Omodos, along which we will certainly walk, were once designed only for the donkey and his passenger! We will look into the shop with handmade lace, as well as the local glassblower. I will show you the house of a winemaker with a six hundred-year history, where you can taste the delicious Cypriot wine.

For dessert I have prepared for you the most beautiful bay of Cyprus. According to legend, Aphrodite herself came out of the foam of the sea on its shore. We end the day with a bath in the waters where the goddess of Love and Beauty was born, and together with the fairy tale we see off our wonderful day. I invite you on a journey. Ready?
