Miu Fat Monastery
18 Castle Peak Road, Lam Tei, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, China
Description:
Miu Fat Monastery is a traditional active Buddhist monastery. It is well preserved and is one of the attractive tourist attractions of the city.
The building in the traditional Buddhist style is located in the modern district of the city and immediately stands out against the skyscrapers. It was built in 1950. Later, the hall of ten thousand Buddhas in three floors was added to it. The full consecration of the monastery complex took place in 2010.
The monastery combines several buildings, including a Buddhist temple and a library, surrounded by lush gardens. The interior halls are richly decorated with reliefs with Buddha images and bright frescoes. In addition, there are several gilded statues of Buddha Shakyamuni in the room. The entrance is decorated with massive columns decorated with very realistically carved dragons. The uppermost tower resembles a unfolding lotus flower and glows beautifully at night. There is also an observation deck, which offers a beautiful view, and a vegetarian cafe for visitors.
