Lamma Island

Lamma Island, Islands Distict, Hong Kong, China

Description:

Lamma Island is only half an hour by ferry from Hong Kong’s central piers. It is the direct opposite of its noisy city-neighbor: leisurely life on the island disposes to a pleasant rest and to achieve a state of peace of mind.

For most of its history, Lamma stood firmly on the sidelines of tourist routes, until the local paradise was not noticed by “hippish” youth. Since then, the atmosphere of an eternal holiday reigns here, in which waves of love and brotherhood cover all new arrivals.

There are no high-rise buildings - the tallest buildings are three-storey ones. Higher houses on the Lamma are prohibited. There are almost no cars, except for a few electric cars. Residents of Lamma Island travel on foot or by bicycle.

Most of all, a trip to the island of Lamma will appeal to nature lovers and hiking, as well as photographers for whom there will be no shortage of unique shots on the island. There are no large number of temples, museums and other architectural buildings, so they usually go to Lammu to relax from the metropolis in the fresh air, in silence. Tourists going to the Lammu should take care of the convenience of shoes - you will most likely have to walk a lot. Chic coastal landscapes, clean sandy beaches and gentle sea are the main attractions that Lamma meets its guests. And if you are tired and hungry, you can always look at one of the family restaurants located near the sea and taste exquisite sea delicacies.
