Hong Kong Coastal Defense Museum

175 Tung Hei Rd, Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong, China

About the company:

The Coastal Defense Museum tells visitors about the history of the defense of the coast of Hong Kong during the Ming and Qing Dynasty, during the World Wars and other important events in the history of China. It is housed in a fort built by British forces in 1887 to defend against attacks.

The museum consists of three parts: a redoubt, a reception hall and a historical path. The total area of the museum is 34,200 square meters. All museum sites transport visitors to distant historical times. Inside the redoubt, you can look at various military equipment.

In addition to the redoubt, there is a torpedo station near which tourists are constantly photographed. The Lei Yue Mun Pass battery, built in 1892, was used to protect the harbor from destroyers with high-speed torpedoes.
