Sam Dong Wook Village Museum
2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, China
About the company:
The Sam Dong Wook Village Museum is an ancient 2,000-square-meter Chinese village fenced by a stone wall. The year of foundation of the museum can be considered 1981, when the two-hundred-year-old village was reconstructed and declared a cultural and historical monument.
The inner scheme of the village resembles a chessboard due to the symmetrical arrangement of the buildings. In the center of the village there are four large individual houses, on the central axis there are places for public meetings of residents, and along the perimeter of the inner wall there are private houses.
As part of the museum exposition, various tools and household utensils of the Hakka people are presented, which allows visitors to feel the unique atmosphere of rural life of those times. The museum receives visitors daily from 10 to 18 hours, except Tuesdays and holidays.
