From Guangzhou to Mount Baiyun

Since ancient times, the Baiyun Mountains have been one of Guangzhou’s most famous natural beauty sites, and even today, these mountains are still considered one of the city’s top attractions. Every time the sun shines after rain, a wreath of clouds forms around these mountains. Therefore, the mountains were called Baiyun, which translates as “white cloud”. Due to erosion, ravines began to appear on the mountains, which significantly reduced their height. Thus, the relative height of the mountains is now about 100 meters. The area near the Bayyun Mountains is a quiet and secluded place that is an oasis of tranquility near a large city.

The total area of the Baiyun mountains is about 28 square kilometers, and they consist of 30 peaks. The Moxing Ridge, known as the "first peak in the southern sky," is about 382 meters high. Standing on top of this mountain, you can see the whole city of Guangzhou and the beautiful Pearl River.

The Bayun Mountains in Guangzhou are the perfect place for people who want to relax. There are six areas that are popular with visitors. A bright pearl in the crown of the Baiyun Mountains is the Yuntai Garden. It is a huge garden with all kinds of algae and trees that can be found in the Guangzhou area. Also worth noting is the sculpture park, which covers an area of 46 hectares. You will also find here the largest natural bird cage in China, where you can see a variety of birds.
