Yuexiu Park, 119号 Liu Hua Lu, Yue Xiu Qu, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, 510145
Description:
Zenhai Tower is one of the most remarkable buildings in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. The ancient building consists of five floors, which are folded into a pyramidal shape. Each floor is divided by a special cornice, which forms a visor above the lower floor. The walls of the first two floors were made of red sandstone and the rest were made of ordinary brick. The first Zenhai Tower was built in 1380 at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, but was destroyed several times and restored according to ancient drawings.
The modern tower building was rebuilt in 1928. Since 1950, it houses the Guangzhou Municipal Museum. On each floor there is an exposition showing the development of the province over the past 2000 years. On the ground floor there is a three-dimensional map of modern Guangzhou, allowing you to consider in more detail all its areas. Here is a huge anchor of the Ming dynasty, found on the banks of the Zhu Jiang River. On the second floor are relics from the burials of the Han dynasty. On the third floor there are objects that reflect the influence of the Western world on the traditional culture of China. The fourth floor illustrates Guangzhou after the Opium War. At the top are cafes and shops.
