About the company:

The Chen Family Temple, which currently houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, is a XIX century building and is among the cultural monuments of national importance.

This building was built at the expense of the Chen family, which is one of the oldest clans of the Chinese province of Guangdong. It consists of 19 rooms connected by six courtyards. It is often called the Chen family academies, as it was here that numerous members of the family were trained and prepared for service. Since the middle of the XX century, the Guangdong Folk Art Museum has been operating within these walls.

The family temple is a traditional Chinese building with typical architecture and decoration: behind a brick wall lies a complex of rooms made in the style of Linnan. This means that a lot of graceful wood and stone carvings, clay statues and bas-reliefs are used in the decoration. The design uses a lot of details that can be viewed for hours. Since 1988, the building has been under state protection as a monument of national importance.
