West Lake Xi Hu
Description:
West Lake Xi Hu is located in the historic district of Hangzhou. Its natural beauty has influenced poets, artists and thinkers for centuries. This lake has been one of the most important sources of inspiration for Chinese garden designers as a place of idealized fusion of man and nature. For this, the West Lake Xi Hu in 2011 was included in the UNESCO list.
On the lake there are artificial islands, and on its banks there are numerous temples, pagodas and gardens. Its total area is 6.5 square kilometers, and the average depth is quite small – just over two meters.
