Gubei - excursion to the city on the water
Description:
Gubei – a city on the water, where ancient legends come to life
Imagine: instead of streets — canals, instead of the noise of cars — the quiet splash of water under wooden bridges. Ancient houses with gray tiled roofs are reflected in the mirror of the canals, and in the evenings everything is illuminated by the soft light of thousands of lanterns. It seems as if I got into the frame of the film Zhang Yimou - the magic that has become a reality.
What awaits you?
A boat ride through the neighborhoods of the Minsk era. When night falls, the water begins to glow with reflections, and it seems as if the boat is sailing according to a fairy tale.
Climb the Great Wall on the funicular. From the top opens a panorama of the valley - one of the most picturesque views of the Celestial Empire.
Dinner by the water. Try a Peking duck in a cozy restaurant overlooking the illuminated canals - a taste you can't forget.
Hot springs in the open air. In winter, it is especially pleasant to plunge into the warm water, when the snow sparkles around and snow-capped peaks of the mountains are visible.
Shops and craft shops. Here you can buy lubricated engravings of Nanhua - a symbol of happiness and well-being in a Chinese home.
A little history
Although the city is young - built in 2010 - it was built according to ancient canons. Every stone, every arch, every shingle is made in the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It’s not just a scenery, it’s a carefully recreated atmosphere of old China, where past and present are intertwined in perfect harmony.
