Simathai – “Wild” Great Wall of China and Gubei Water Town
Description:
Simatai – “Wild” section of the Great Wall – Simatai and the water town of Gubei
See the real wall of China, which has retained its original appearance since the Ming dynasties
Simathai is one of the most remote and inaccessible sections of the Great Wall of China. This is its complexity and its immense appeal! Compared to other sites, there are many times fewer people, but the authenticity and atmosphere are skyrocketing. You will climb the wall, see the watchtowers, and then you can visit the cozy village.
What awaits you
A wall without tourist gloss. Simathai is a site for those who want to immerse themselves in the past eras of China and see the Great Wall of China in all its antiquity, not restored or filled with tourists.
There are 35 watchtowers on Simathai, and one of its parts runs along the mountain - this is also the steepest section of the wall, which offers breathtaking views for kilometers around! The guide will accompany you and share basic information about the history of the Great Wall of China.
Photogenic "Chinese Venice". At the foot of the wall, we will be able to visit a village in the southern European style: boats resembling Venetian gondolas slide along the river, ducks swim, weeping willows grow, neat village houses and bridges please the eye. And for those who want there are cafes and shops.
