Guanyu Palace in Beijing

Zhongshan Street, Tongzhou Town, Tongzhou District, Beijing, China

Description:

Guanyu Palace in Beijing is one of the imperial palaces in the traditional Chinese style.

This palace began to be built in the XV century, its construction lasted about 15 years.

For several centuries, the emperors of the ruling Chinese dynasties lived here.

Guanyu Palace is an example of the architecture of the time - a large square building about 40 meters high, with several tiers of pagodas, painted in traditional red. The facades are richly decorated with golden patterns and hieroglyphs.

Previously, the palace was surrounded by a high wall around the perimeter, but at the moment it has not been completely preserved, only a small part of it has been restored.
