Description:
The palace was built in the first half of the fifteenth century and is the largest hall in the courtyard of the Forbidden City. During the Ming Dynasty it served as the residence of the emperor.
Its huge space, 20 meters high, was divided into nine bedrooms on two levels. There were three beds in each room. No one ever knew which one the emperor would sleep on. During the Qin Dynasty, the palace became a venue for ministerial meetings, banquets and ceremonies.
In the center of the palace on the hill there is a golden imperial throne and a table on which the emperor signed documents. Among the rich decoration of the palace you can see huge mirrors, near which there are red candles.
