Mount Yuquan

Yuquanshan Road, Haidian District, Beijing, China

Description:

Mount Yuquan is a small mountain, which due to the strange appearance of rocks, caves and many small streams was a favorite place of the emperors of the Qing dynasty. It is located on the west side of the Summer Palace and is located at the foot of the Xishan Mountains. The mountain is only a hundred meters high.

On the top of the hill on the south side of the mountain is an ancient pagoda built of glazed brick by order of the emperor. The pagoda has an octagonal shape. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to the very top of the pagoda, from where the picturesque view from Mount Yuquan, which the emperors enjoyed, opens.
