Description:
The Iheyuan Summer Palace was built between 1115 and 1234 and has since been continuously expanded into a magnificent complex: a luxurious imperial garden with several hundred buildings and decorative elements. The imperial family found comfort, peace and rest here.
Iheyuan Park is one of the most magnificent and elegant country palace and park complexes. The name of the mountain on which it lies was once translated as “the mountain of long rest”. But during the reign of Emperor Qian Lung, the area was renamed the "Parque of Pure Water Swell", in honor of the birthday of the emperor's mother. With an area of almost 290 hectares, the park united three hills and five gardens: Fragrant Hills, Jade Creek Hill, Longevity Hill, the Garden of Perfection and Purity, the Garden of Joyful Spring, the Garden of Pure Waves, the Garden of Tranquility and Enjoyment, and the Garden of Tranquility and Purity.
Along the shore of Kunminghu Lake (lake like a radiance) stretches a long corridor, the walls of which are covered with paintings, it is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. On the shore there is a marble boat, famous for the fact that Empress Cixi loved to dine here. She became famous for spending on the renovation and arrangement of the Summer Palace funds intended for the construction of the Navy.
Of great interest from an architectural point of view in the Iheyuan Park are stone bridges, among which the most famous is the humpback bridge, as well as winding paths lined with multicolored pebbles.
