Ritany Park

Ritan Rd, Chaoyang, Beijing, China

Description:

Ritan Park, located in the “Russian” area of Beijing, is a great place for rest and a great pastime for Chinese and foreign tourists.

The park houses the Temple of the Sun, built in 1530 by the Emperor of the Ming Dynasty to sacrifice to the Sun.

In 1956, after reconstruction and expansion to 246,613 square meters, the park was reopened to the public. Here everyone will find a corner to their taste: gardens and playgrounds for entertainment, a fishing area for fishing lovers, music festivals, flower exhibitions, sites for creativity and active recreation.

In the park there are many architectural structures, lakes, flowers, trees, among which there are many ancient. For example, the 1,100-year-old cypress, also called the “Nine Dragons”: the black branches of the tree, pointing upwards, resemble the heads of dragons.
