Daguanyuan Garden

No. 12 Nancaiyuan Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, China

Description:

Daguanyuan Garden was laid out in the southwestern part of Beijing in 1989 on an area of thirteen hectares. It resembles a luxurious garden of the Ming Dynasty.

The garden was created for the film adaptation of the classic Chinese novel “Dream in the Red Chamber”, written in the eighteenth century by the famous writer Cao Xueqin.

On the vast territory of Daguanyuan among the greenery built many pagodas, temples and houses with their miniature gardens, imitating the buildings described in the book. All these national Chinese buildings help to better understand the characters of the novel.

Various ceremonies are held in the garden from time to time.
