Inside Beijing Badachu Park, Shijingshan District, Beijing, China
Description:
Dabei is a Buddhist monastery built during the Qing Dynasty, but it has come to our time in a completely different architectural form. The temple consists of the old and new parts: the western part of the monastery was built in 1669, and the eastern part - in 1940.
The most famous attractions of the temple: a 7-meter statue of Shakyamuni, created during the Ming dynasty, and a 4-meter statue of the goddess Kwang-yin with a thousand hands. The temple once housed the skull of Xuanjian, which is now in India.
This monastery is the oldest and largest monastery in the city. Also, this monastery is the only one that offers vegetarian food, so vegetarian tourists often come here. Here noodles, lean buns, baozi, vegetarian dumplings and other delicious and healthy food are prepared.
